Slatted Frame Production
The slatted frame production line enables the efficient manufacture of slatted frames that are securely welded with a tape-shaped fabric. The line forms a complete production line and comprises two material dispensers, a NUSonic ECO press, and a unit for welding, cutting and transporting the material.

Application
With its adaptable machine concept, NUCLEUS slatted frame production offers a uniform solution for numerous tasks in the automated manufacture of slatted frames:
- Processing of cardboard tape instead of conventional roll goods – including an intelligent deflection section for detecting the end of the tape
- Separation of the slats from a filled magazine by means of a push function
- Welding of the upper and lower tape between every two slats with a servo-controlled ultrasonic press
- Separation welding after a defined number of slats on the same ultrasonic unit
- Discharge of the joined slats via 1,550 mm long conveyor belts
Tape change
Thanks to the purpose-built deflection solution, the machine automatically detects when the remaining tape length is no longer sufficient for a complete slatted frame. After the last complete frame has been finished, the line stops automatically. The new tape is then glued on manually – optionally supported by a manual press – or joined by hand and advanced to beyond the splice. A single slat can be used to run out the remaining material.
Operation
The line is conveniently operated via a 15″ touchscreen panel. The finished slatted frame reaches a maximum total length of 2,200 mm; the slat spacing is set via software.
Of course, the line features modern remote maintenance functions and a wide range of Industry 4.0 options.
